Our Beginnings
The orgins of the WAPA 2020 journey
WAPA 2020 was established as a trust in 2009. 12 primary, intermediate and secondary schools in West Auckland were involved in a pilot to raise achievement across the region. The initial focus was on 'transitions' and in 2010 this morphed into community engagement and eventually 'student engagement' in 2011 with 31 participating schools involved in undertaking the NZCER student engagement survey "Me and My School'.
